The human resource department (HRM department) is essential for the growth of the business. Significantly, the SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) invest more in the HR department to bridge the gap between the expectation and reality.

The top management authority just sees the dream of success, but the human resource department drives the organization to succeed. It hires the employees who do hard work and put their efforts to achieve the goal of the company.

In short, we can say that without human resource management (HRM), the business can not survive in the highly competitive market.

Why Is HRM Important In An Organization?

Just invest once in human resource management (HRM); I assure you that you see the differentiation in each operation after implementing effective workforce management in the working premises.

Following are some importance of implementing HR management (HRM) in an organization;

1. Budget Control

Easy HRM Guide 101: Tips on Not Offending Your EmployeesHuman resource management (HRM) helps to maintain the budget of the company. Especially the cost of the recruitment, training, and development of the employees.

They try to make the workplace comfy to the employees, and thus, they are continually trying to retain the employees for a more extended period of time and reduce the recruitment and onboarding cost.

Even the primary task of the human resource department is to simplify each function of the working premises, and thus, it reduces extra and undefined expenses of the business operations.

2. Employee Satisfaction

The workforce department is continuously watching over the satisfaction of the employees. Because they know satisfied employees stay for a more extended period and do not leave the company without a solid reason.

Thus, they are trying to solve the conflicts on an immediate basis; they motivate them for no reason, they are ready to listen to them without judging them, pay them regularly, provide them extra benefits like awards, additional monetary and non-monetary reward, bonuses, the shares of the company, gifts, etc. so that they can get satisfaction from the working premises and company’s services and stay there for a longer period.

That increases the goodwill of the firm too.

3. Training And Development

Training of the new employee is essential, but what about the existing workforce?

It is necessary to provide them with training on a regular basis to develop their knowledge and to teach them updated technology. The development of the employees means the enhancement of the business.

4. Conflict Resolution

It is obvious that when you gather two or more people in a single place, then you must have to face a conflict between all of them. Conflict management is a part of the duty of a human resource department (HRM).

The HR admin must look over if any employee faces difficulties with other employees or anything within the workplace, then he/she must have to give an immediate solution to the problem.

5. Performance Improvement

Analysis of employee’s performance is essential to improve their productivity. The improvement in the productivity of the employees means the enhancement of the profit of the firm.

Earlier, the human resource admin (HRM) analyzed the tasks of the employees manually, but nowadays, because of the technological revolution, they use hr management software to analyze the performance of the workforce and take necessary steps to improve it.

Why Transparency Is Essential With The Employees?

Easy HRM Guide 101: Tips on Not Offending Your EmployeesIf, as an HR manager (HRM), you want to retain your employees for a longer period of time, then trust me if keeping transparency with each thing related to him is the only suggestion to implement.

Following are the advantages of keeping transparency with the workforce.

1. Increases Trust

Clarity with the workforce increases trust and allow them to share their opinion and suggestion freely or without hesitation. It is essential when we talk not to offend the employee.

Clarity of the job, position, salary, etc., helps to predict their future with the company. If you want to retain the employees for a longer period then also trust factor is vital.

2. Build Good Relationship

Transparency with the workforce helps the employers to build an excellent relationship with them, and it is beneficial for the superior only.

If the workforce and the manager have a good relationship with the working premises, then the top management authority does not worry about the conflict. It also enhances discipline in the workplace and synchronizes each operation of the firm.

3. Improving Productivity

The clarity of the job and position increases the productivity of the employees.

If an HR manager gives a clear idea about the job to the candidate, then if they do not like the position, they can refuse the job, but what if they did not clarify their job while selecting them?

If the workforce enjoys their job, then only they can perform it well. Thus, transparency is essential when we talk about improving the productivity of the employees.

Even the human resource department analyzes the performance of the employees through automated KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to improve their performance.

4. Enhances Innovation

Transparency with the team members enhances innovation in the working place. It allows the employees to share their suggestions and some of the opinions really work.

Thus, it increases innovation and motivates the employees to share their views with the team leaders or boss. The innovation/creation ideas help the business to grow faster like never before.

Things That A Good Boss Should Never Say To His/Her Employees

Offending employees means you demotivate them and allow them to leave the organization. And if they left the company, then you might face difficulties to fulfill their place again.

Thus, it is essential to keep them as a precious gem; after all, the workforce is the real asset of the firm. Below listed are the things that, as a good leader, you never say to the employees.

1. “Lucky People Have This Job!”

Do not tell any of your inferiors that you are lucky because he/she got the job in your company.

See, we both know that they don’t need us; instead, we need them. If you do not give a job to them, they will find another, but if you provide them with a job, then never say this line.

They might feel demotivated and think like they are not the best match for a particular position. It reduces their productivity and the firm’s profitability.

2. “I Have So Many Work Please Ask Me Later”

Do not tell your employees to ask their queries later, because it may disturb their work routine.

What if, due to their small question, the whole project gets affected? Yes, of course, the business might bear the loss for the little mistake.

Thus, try to clarify their work before assigning them a task or solve their doubts in a meeting. This sentence may demotivate them and reduces their productivity.

3. “Leave It At Home”

It is good that the employees classify their personal and professional life and keep both of them separate.

But sometimes, at the time of emergency, if they discuss their personal life with you, then it means they trust you, they don’t tell them that you keep your issue at home, instead give them sympathy and help them financially and emotionally.

4. “You Have Got Some Big Shoes To Fill”

After hiring a new candidate, do not tell them like “Mr. X, our old employee who was at your place was the best employee of our company” “Look, your boss, he/she, is the idol of our organization” and so on.

These may demotivate them, and they feel like you offend them and influence them for no reason.

5. “Everything Is Great”

Don’t give them wrong vibes or sympathy. If they did faulty work or mischief with anyone, then do not give them false sympathy that “don’t worry everything will be alright!” or anything.

False hope may demotivate them in the future, and transparency helps them to survive in the more challenging times.

6. “Do Your Work In This Way Only”

Do not be rigid in the working premises, do not tell them to perform their job as you want, instead allow them to do their work as they wish.

As a good leader, you want to be a result orientated rather than anything else. What do you want as an employer? Yes, they complete a task at a time, then allow your employee to perform their job as they want.

7. “It Does Not Matter To Me!”

Everything that happens on the working premises matters to you as an employer. So, do not tell them that “it does not matter to me do whatever you want!”.

If you say these types of words, they feel that you insult them and they leave the company. It also affects the growth of the company. Thus, not offending your employees; just try to help them whenever they want

8. “You Are Wrong!”

Easy HRM Guide 101: Tips on Not Offending Your EmployeesEven if the employees are wrong at their place, do not tell it to them directly. Do not try to feel embarrassed in front of others; it may hurt their self-respect. This may be the reason for their resignation.

So instead of directly saying to them that they are wrong, try to convince them because, as I earlier said that they don’t need us; we need them.

9. “I Hate The Workplace”

As an employer, never tell them that the workplace you all are working, is not fair or anything. The negativity may hurt the growth of the employees, and it also reduces their productivity, and at last, the company needs to survive with this kind of situation.

As an employer, you have to motivate them instead of giving them negative vibes.

10. “I Feel Negativity In The Working Premises”

Again the same thing I want to tell you is motivating your employees to improve their performance instead, give them negative vibes.

Suppose the employer is hostile, then what we expect from the company and its employees?. It affects the whole business. Thus, do not give a smaller space to negativity in the working premises.

Conclusion: HRM Guide 101

Above listed are some points that you never tell your employees; if as a superior you say such things to your employees, then it may hurt the growth and development of the business as a whole, and it also reduces the profitability of the company.

At last, I just want to say that spread positivity in the workplace and see the magic of it!
