So, I have decided to write about New Year resolutions for entrepreneurs using myself as an example.
This is a challenge that is very scary and at the same time exciting for obvious reasons. I am practically putting myself on your radar.
I will give you an insider look into my goals for the New Year and what I will do to achieve them.
Wow! I am so super-excited and scared at the same time.
Let’s get started!
According to Wikipedia, a New Year’s resolution is a tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere, in which a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement or something slightly nice, such as opening doors for people beginning from New Year’s Day.
In this New Year, create good habits, not just resolutions.
Before making those massive resolutions, you need to check out this 2007 study by Richard Wiseman from the University of Bristol involving 3,000 people which showed that 88% of those who set New Year resolutions fail, despite the fact that 52% of the study’s participants were confident of success at the beginning.
New Year resolutions is a tradition that is common in many parts of the world.
Why did the 2640 persons fail to achieve their New Year resolutions out of the 3000 persons in the study?
They simply failed because they thought about “what they should do” rather than “what they really wanted to do”.
They don’t actually want those resolutions. They were not hungry enough for their goals. Their resolutions were based on what people wanted them to do. Therefore, they failed.

In simple terms, to succeed in your New Year’s goals and plans, you should focus on what you really want and be committed to it.
New Year Resolutions Statistics
According to Statistic Brain Research Institute statistics on New Year resolutions, 8% percent of people achieve success and 49% have infrequent success every year.
24 percent of people fail and never succeed on their resolution each year.
Also, people who explicitly make resolutions are 10 times more likely to attain their goals than people who don’t explicitly make resolutions.
Statistics of New Year resolution based on age also showed that 39 percent of people in their twenties achieve their resolution each year and 14 percent of people over 50 achieve their resolution each year.
According to the data of length of New Year resolutions, 75 percent of people maintained their resolution through the first week, 71 percent went past the first two weeks, 64 percent went past one month and 46 percent went past the first six months.
I will chip in these New Year resolutions from my one and only “partner-in-crime” (PIC).
My PIC have an amazing New Year goals and resolutions that will definitely help you as an entrepreneur become a better person in the New Year:

#2. Show mercy, even to your enemies.
#3. Tolerate others despite their flaws and ideologies.
#4. Put a smile on someone’s face every day.
#5. Don’t be a critic, rather encourage others.
#6. Do not bargain for an item when you do not have the intent of buying.

Why am I doing this?
To help you get started in setting your goals for the New Year. It is as simple as that.

I have very specific goals that I want to achieve in the New Year. It is important to let you know that I have a very minimal support system but this won’t hinder my success. Challenges toughen us up and toughness equals strength.
Therefore, I have decided to create a support system that shares my values and goals. With this system in place, it will be easier to achieve my goals and constantly keep myself on track.
Here is a little bit about me…
I am fresh out of college and primarily working on building my career both offline and online. I have done some small jobs in the past for two companies when I was in school and immediately after I left school.
This is to enable me discover myself and potentials.
So, what did I discover about me?
I don’t like the regular 8 to 5 job.
Not because of the poor pay alone. It is also not because of the rigidity associated with this jobs neither is it because of the billions of “internal” secrets and scandals which are best kept secrets to protect these companies interests by their employees.
I hated the regular 8 to 5 job simply because of the emotional torture and blackmail associated with these jobs.
You are constantly reminded (either directly or indirectly) of the fact that you are “lucky” to get a “job” working for them and there are other people out there who are always ready to replace you at your job.
It is just “killing” to be working under these conditions especially when you don’t like the job but just in the job for the sake of it.
I also hated the fact of having to wait till the end of the month for my pay check. I want to get paid immediately for my job. Why do I have to wait?
These are my sentiments and I want to do something to change these in the New Year.
I have a pretty good idea of what I want to accomplish in my adventure and I have a set time to achieve this.
In the New Year, my primary goal is to focus more on freelancing and build my income around a business that meets the requirements listed below:
– Article writing
– Email copy
– Web Design Services
– Affiliate Marketing and working outwards from there.
Here are the things I do not want to be involved in going into the New Year:
– Unnecessary talks that let people “show up if they feel like it” and do not hold people accountable.
– Meetings that are spaced too far apart to be able to truly hold people accountable.
– Social gatherings for people who are just bored and want to be in a mastermind so that they can FEEL productive while not really doing or contributing anything.

Basically I am looking forward to become active and part of a long term committed support system of people who will offer:
– A positive reinforcement.
– Constructive criticisms.
– A judgement free environment for idea creation.
– Regular accountability.
– Brutal honesty when necessary.
– Tactical advice.
I am about to share my goals for the New Year with you. Trust me, my goals are lofty, funny and interesting.

My Personal Goals for the New Year
– Exercise more often.
– Eat healthy foods (more fruits).
– Spend more time with people who matter most to me.
– Put more smiles on my P.I.C’s face.
– Become a minimalist.
– Remove all unnecessary/unwanted mental clutters from my life.
My Business Goals for the New Year
– Get a fully functional office space.
– Network with influencers in my industry.
– Start a massive guest blogging campaign (minimum of 2 guest posts/month)
– Create recurring revenue of at least $1000/month.
– Provide myself with complete locational freedom with 100% online presence.
– Add more skills to my portfolio and expand my knowledge.
– Automate my business processes to achieve freedom.

– At least one weekly online meeting to discuss progress, sticking points, brainstorm, etc. where each person gets as much time as they need (within reason) to discuss aspects of their business that they could use help or advice on.
– A monthly and/or quarterly meeting to review progress and make adjustments of going forward.
– A clearly defined leadership of the group who will be responsible for maintaining the structure of the group meetings so that we stay on track and accomplish what we set out to with each meeting.
– It would be nice to have a diverse group of people with different perspectives and professions who can all contribute to help one another grow as opposed to a very narrow talent pool.
– Accountability partners to hold one another accountable and focused on our individual goals.
