“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure!” Marianne Williamson
According to Wikipedia, Marianne Williamson is a spiritual activist, author, lecturer and founder of The Peace Alliance, a grass roots campaign supporting the legislation currently before Congress to establish a United States Department of Peace.
I came across the variation of her quote in 2011, which was used in the movie “Akeelah and the Bee”, released in 2006. This famous paragraph from her book, “A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”, has been misattributed to Nelson Mandela which he used in his 1994 inaugural address.
I have learnt that to succeed in life and business, the mind must be in its “excited state”. This is only possible when it is filled with positive vibes. One of the ways by which I generate positive vibes is by studying great quotes like this. It works for me and I know it will work for you.
Here is one of the greatest quotes that made me who I am today:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone
And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give others permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
It has been said that fear is a false evidence appearing to be real. It is always better to face everything and rise. By so doing, we break new grounds and liberate others from their fears. The best way to move forward is by doing those great things we are afraid to do.
I strongly believe that you will be inspired to leave your comfort zone and take the needed action in your business and life by this great piece. Remember that your imagination equals possibilities!
